Hi, I'm Roshmi

ACC (ICF Associate Certified Coach), CPA, mother, wife, resilience expert

A few words about me

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Mahatma Gandhi

This quote is one of my mantras. In fact, it has been my reality throughout my entire life. I was a Sunday school teacher for 6 years, caretaker for both of my parents before they passed, yoga teacher later on, and now an executive and life coach. Being of service gives me joy and fulfillment in my work and personal life.

Service, in fact, is one of my strongest values. And the fact that my top 2 Gallup StrengthsFinder strengths are empathy and connectedness attests to that. It was this realization that finally pushed me to get certified by the Academy of Executive Coaching and accredited by the International Coaching Federation as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC).  This process involved completing 100+ hours of coaching, several hours of mentoring hours with a professional coach, submitting a live recording of a coaching session and finally, passing the CKA exam (Coach Knowledge Assessment) proving my knowledge and ethics in this profession.

What makes me so unique?

My coaching methods stem from a unique combination of skills, training, and personal experiences. Prior to going into this line of work, I had been working as a certified public accountant (CPA) for over 10 years. My first job was at a top 5 public accounting firm in the US.  Afterwards, I worked for a large national Oil & Gas company. Putting in frequent overtime, meeting tight deadlines for Fortune 100 enterprises, and working under pressure meant just another day at work.

This lifestyle, as well as surviving major personal traumas (e.g. losing our house during Hurricane Harvey in 2017) made it challenging to stay on top of my mental and physical health. However, by cultivating my own mental fitness and mindfulness practice, I managed to overcome my mental challenges around anxiety, stress, and weight gain, and defeat rheumatoid arthritis (ra).

So, I am no stranger to the multitude of stressors in our lives nowadays, nor to the curveballs that life can throw at us. But, through my training and practice, I have accumulated a large number of tools to help both myself and my clients handle anything that may come our way.

Performance Management

A big reason why we don’t often reach our peak performance has to do with our saboteurs, especially our inner critic. These can make us doubt ourselves and the quality of our work, causing stress, imposter syndrome, burn out, procrastination, and more. You would start to gain less satisfaction from completing tasks, get triggered easily, or detach yourself from your work environment and job. As a coach, I help you work on using your mental/emotional energy more efficiently and effectively, improve your ability to develop others, and get better at teamwork and collaboration to optimize your performance both at work and in your personal life.

Overall Wellbeing

What is the meaning of success without sustained happiness or contentment? Although our inner voices can help us receive some level of success, they often do so motivated by negative emotions such as stress, anxiety, anger, shame, blame, or fear. This in turn can affect our mental state and wellbeing, preventing us from being genuinely happy. Our ability to show up and be present ultimately suffers too, due to prolonged stress, friction, and low Emotional Intelligence (EQ). Throughout our sessions, we work on increasing happiness, better managing stress, and improving self-confidence using an array of coaching tools and methodologies.

Personal & Professional Relationships

The quality of our relationships means everything in life. We often fall into the trap of constantly finding what is wrong with other people, which can then hurt the effectiveness of our communications and overall interactions. When our relationships are filled with tension and conflict, it can cause both our mental health and our social adaptability to suffer. Within my coaching program, you will learn to get better at conflict management and enable yourself to practice empathy towards others, helping to improve your relationships in all aspects of life.

Leadership & Development

Personal growth is key to life fulfilment and sustained happiness. Managing relationships, particularly conflicts, as well as handling procrastination, lack of motivation, and pressure to perform are all part of this process. Through reflection, accountability, and improved communication skills, you can become the best version of yourself, both as a leader and as a human being overall.
